MK Punky's Better Angels (live performance) -- July 4, 8:00pm-10:00pm

MK Punky is the performance alter-ego of best-selling author and artist Michael Konik. MK is the host of "Revolutionary Words," an open mic for poets, prophets and provocateurs dedicated to social justice.

Grammy-winner and multiple-nominee Laurence Hobgood has enjoyed a multi-faceted and dynamic career as a musical director, arranger, producer, educator and contemporary virtuoso pianist. Perhaps best known as the musical director for jazz vocalist Kurt Elling (1995-2013), Hobgood shares his music around the world.
Charmaine Clamor is known as the Queen of Jazzipino, with four consecutive top10 albums on the JazzWeek World Music radio charts. Her latest project, "The Better Angels," produced by Laurence Hobgood, is the soundtrack to the Festival, expressing in music a connection to the better angels of our nature.

Abe Lagrimas, Jr. is a virtuoso on the drums, ukulele and vibes. In 2011, his album "Solo Ukulele: The King of Pop" won the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for the EP Release of the year. In September 2012, Abe was one of twelve semi-finalists worldwide to compete in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Drums Competition.

A graduate of The New England Conservatory of Music, Gary Wicks began his professional career in musical theater. He accepted a fellowship for The Henry Mancini Institute in 2003 and has toured internationally with world-class artists, including The Manhattan Transfer. He currently teaches at Musician's Institute, in Hollywood, California.

Ric Ickard is a Naxos international recording artist who is proficient in diverse music styles with four CDs to his credit. He is a featured artist at the annual Chet Atkins Convention in Nashville and was a headlining performer at the Philippine International Jazz Festival. Ric was a recipient of a government scholarship in music and a first prize awardee of both the classical and jazz guitar competitions in the Philippine Guitar Festival.

Troy Conrad is the creator of the international comedy sensation, "Set List: Stand-Up Without a Net" and a leading practitioner of the improvisational arts.

SIPA Crew was established on March 1st, 2013 with the combined forces of Cultureshock LA (CSLA) and Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA). It is led by two Artistic Directors under CSLA, Bryan "Boogiemind" East (Popping/Locking) and Ray Basa (House Dance). These individuals teach every Wednesday and Friday at SIPA from 5pm-6:30pm.
SIPA Crew has opened many doors for its members. Given opportunities to perform within the community and produce their own workshops to fundraise, they have been able to showcase their talent and hard work. This group of talented students continue to show dedication and drive to become better dancers and leaders. As an incoming hip hop dance group, SIPA Crew wishes to continue growing and be recognized as a group in the dance community who enjoy the same passion and enjoyment of dance as other companies.

Connor Sullivan's sound is a fusion of pop/indie songwriting with influences in jazz vocals and folk lyricism that always seems to bring a story to life. He has maintained an approachability and trueness to his sound, while honoring a versatility that brings a breath of fresh air to diverse audiences.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Kira Hooks is a driven, passionate and charismatic singer songwriter who set out to approach her music based on epiphanies and empowerment ideals. Her album, 'Elephant Heart' (2014), features a collection of twelve songs that fall somewhere in between the warmth of soul, the melodies of pop and the explosive grooves of Latin/Funk music. Kira is an eclectic performer and talented songwriter who refuses to get stuck in a box, while managing to keep her music accessible and easy to relate to.
The Better Angels Dance Concert: 11 Songs of Hope (live performance) -- July 11, 8:00pm-10:00pm

Rikyrah Snow is a dancer and instructor for "Movement & Healing," lessons which create awareness of the mind, body & spirit through movement & sound vibrations of music. She focuses on the 5 Elements of Dance (Breathwork : Stretching : Dance : Yoga : Meditation) enhance flow throughout life in which we create success & abundance. She is the main choreographer and curator for the Better Angels Festival Dance Presentation.
The Better Angels Festival Closing Dance Party (Remix/Sound Bath) -- July 12, 7:00pm-10:00pm

Los Angeles based filmmaker Jon Mancinetti has been creating stunning live visuals for over a decade. He has crafted full sets of visuals for DJ’s and musicians displayed during their performances at major festivals and tours all over the world. Jon has also VJ’d countless solo shows in massive gallery spaces and venues, projecting his artistic vision on a large scale. His original live performances are set to his favorite beats and music that inspires him.
